This doesn't mean that everyone has to become an activist or run for public office, but I do wish for a more informed electorate. Particularly with the 2006 elections coming up. Voter turn out for the mid-terms is typically even more dire than for the presidential elections, and I think this is widely due to people simply not being familiar with who's running and what initiatives are on the ballot. Who we send to Congress is just as important as who we send to the White House, since it's Congress that has a direct impact on so much of our legislation.<BR/>Just imagine what would happen to our elections if we had 80% turn-out or better...Cantankerous Bitchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08353178783999591681noreply@blogger.com
