Happy Sunday, lovely readers.
I've done a little tweaking of the sidebar, in case you hadn't noticed.
Of particular note are the addition of Feedburner links and a Feedblitz subscription link.
For those of you RSS friendly, please feel free to add this site to your Yahoo page or whatever service you're using. At the moment, I think I'm the only subscriber (ha!) so do your part to boost the esteem of the H&S team and get with the program, people.
If you'd like to receive posts via email, go ahead and subscribe. It's a handy way to get H&S content outside of a brower environment, if you're doing clandestine web surfing from the office or something.
And if you've got a blog that's not listed in my Blogroll and you're alarmed at this tragic oversight, please let me know. I'll be happy to include you.
Hope everyone's having a good weekend. As usual, some rants are in development, so stay tuned...

What is the advantage of RSS or these "feeds"?
Well, for instance --
If you have a My Yahoo page set up, you can add RSS content. It gets published to your page just like their standard groupings of news headlines. This way, you can see what's been posted at however many blogs simply by visiting a single page.
These comment fields don't let me add pics, so just imagine if you will:
News:
Headline 1
Headline 2
Headline 3
Politics:
Headline 1
Headline 2
Headline 3
World:
Headline 1
Headline 2
Headline 3
All your standard stuff, right?
Add RSS feeds to the page and you can also have
H&S:
Post 1
Post 2
Post 3
MLW:
Post 1
Post 2
Post 3
Lose the Noose:
Post 1
Post 2
Post 3
etc ad infinitum. Pretty cool, actually. Given how much territory I tend to cover in a day, this kind of aggregation is an enormous time saver. Feeds update as new entries are published, just like any other headline-gathering service.
I can create a new entry with a screen shot if the above isn't clear...
Oh its clear. Would save me the time of hunting through bookmarks only to arrive at a 'good' blog and read "I just bought a peach pair of shoes- what do y'all think?? 900 comments.
Live and let live. I know. I know. I hear you.
I imagine it pings as a hit every time one opens "my yahoo" and retrieves the headline, correct?
Yes, and yes.
Most times, I copy the link under the little XML graphic or whatever & add it manually (add RSS by URL) in Yahoo's "add content" function. There may be a simpler way, so don't take my word for it.
Still, even a few clicks is better than wading through bookmarks, absolutely!
Well this week I'll give it a look. Not really into "My Yahoo".
Oh, whatever service floats your boat. I don't mean to advocate one or the other. Feedburner is a good alternative. I'm sure there are several.
Actually I just stuck it onto yahoo, because I see that I can choose all sorts of little content modules, like whats playing at the damned movies or my local weather (always good to know). I can have Guardian and BBC delivered daily, along with wine picks and "Doonesbury". Who knew such luxury lurked in the furtive tabs of one-stop, value added, commercially spooned, information-collecting YAHOO.
Thank you Technocrats. Its yahoolicious.
Welcooooooome.... to the machine
