Knee-Jerk Reaction to Bush's Speech

1. This was the speech Bill Clinton would have given on 8/31.
2. In listening to Chris Matthews et al do the post-delivery quarterbacking, I can't help but think that it would have been nice if as much scrutiny was paid to Bush's original $87 billion as it is to the $60 billion Gulf relief bill.
