Verizon Matching Funds?

Employees are welcome to confirm this. If you can take advantage of it, please do!

The Verizon Foundation has established a special disaster relief program to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Employees can triple the amount of their gifts by donating to the American Red Cross. The Foundation will match 2-to-1 your contribution, up to $2,500 per year in disaster relief donations, with a cap of $250,000 overall, to support relief efforts by the Red Cross through Sept 30. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest hit areas of Katrina's destruction, supplying critical necessities to hundreds of thousands of victims left homeless. By making a financial contribution, you can assist the Red Cross with providing shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need. Katrina is still making its way across the mid-Atlantic states and long-term recovery efforts and needs are still unknown. We will monitor the situation to determine Verizon's continued response to this devastating disaster.
